Stock Market Students Headed For New York and Washington, DC

High School Basketball Player Named to First-Team Squad

Canyonville Christian Academy’s Destin Musoni was named to the Mountain View Conference first-team all-league squad in boys’ basketball.  The selection is by vote by the league coaches.  Musoni was also named to the  first-team on defense. Andrew Graves and Gabriel Martin were awarded honorable mention for the 2015-16 season by the coaches.

Tennis Team Shines At Cascade Christian

The 2016 Pilot tennis team took on Cascade Christian High School (Medford) and walked away with six wins in the round-robin “friendly” match. Winners for the CCA tennis squad at the April 6 competition included Davy Kayinamura, Simon Mao, Hayden Lui, Brian Ng, Benson Lin, Eun Jin Jang, and Leydy Garcia.

Students Attend Russian Opera!

A group of 14 Canyonville students and staff attended the March 11 opera performance of Pytor I. Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin”.  This live presentation by Eugene Opera of the 19th century classic tragic love story was sung in Russian. The next planned cultural event for the seminar students is a trip to an NBA basketball game on March 28.

Record-Breaking Track Team Opens Season

With over 60 sthletes, believed to be the largest turnout in school history, the 2016 edition of the Canyonville Christian Academy track team got the campaign started by competing at the Match 14 Crusader Relays sponsored by St. Mary’s of Medford. Diana Cox Wife Of Former CBA-CCA Principal-Teacher-Coach

Pilots Capture League Victory!

The Canyonville Christian Academy boys basketball team edged Riddle High School in a closely contested 69-64 game. This was the second consecutive conference win for the team and improved their season record to 7-6. In their January 19th game at Riddle, the CCA’s girls were unable to hold a halftime lead and fell to a 34-30 score.

Boys Win Big Over Monroe!

Canyonville Christian Academy’s boys basketball team logged a strong 61-33 win over the Monroe Dragons Jan. 15. Brian Ng and Destin Musoni combined for 31 points is this conference game. The Pilot girls were led by Esther Sandrali’s 13 points in a losing effort at Monroe.  

Basketball Season Opens December 2

The first games of the 2015-16 basketball schedule will be at Days Creek High School on Dec. 2. Cross Country Boys Place 5th At District Meet

CCA’s cross country team finished the season by placing in the top-five out of 14 schools in the 2015 District 6 (3A/2A/1A) championship meet.  Top finishers in the 5,000 meter race for the Pilots were Diego Rubio (18:36 in 14th place) and Calob Reimer (18:49 in 17th place).  115 runners entered the competition. Seminar Class Attends Play and Ballet

Soccer Team Improves to 3-1-1

The 2015 Pilots chalked up their 3rd win of the young season with a 6-0 victory over Illinois Valley. CCA’s team has now moved  up to 2nd in the District 5 rankings and number nine in the Oregon state standings.

Seminar Class Travels To Oregon Shakespeare Festival

Students from seminar class began their year of cultural events by seeing the classic Broadway musical “Guys and Dolls” in Ashland.  The Sept. 13 play was the first of many events planned for students during the school year.  Most students gave the performance a rating of “8 or a 9” on a 10 point scale.

Alumni Dorm Fund Crosses $40,000 Level

Total alumni donations through Nov. 2012 have brought the CCA “New Dorm Fund” to over $40,000.  Thus far over 80% of donations are from alumni. Vicki Menard, editor of the Roseburg “News-Review” spoke to the 35-student government class on April 3rd. The visit was in response to a class study of “news-review” content that suggested a political bias by the newspaper.
